It’s highly recommended to take a package without engagement (“forfait sans abonnement”) so you can be able to cancel without charge before your return (or if you want to replace the package anytime).

The student transport ticket

The choice of your transport ticket really depends on whether you are moving within Paris or outside Paris and also the public transport taken (whether you use the METRO or the RER).
As a student, the best option is the Imagine R card.
This annual package is intended for students under the age of 26 residing in Île-de-France. It allows unlimited travel throughout the Ile-de-France on all modes of transport but with the exception of certain direct airport services (Orlyval, Direct Bus Paris-Aéroport Air France, VEA Disney shuttles) and tourist buses (OpenTour, Red Cars).

This package is reserved for young people under the age of 26 on September 1 of the subscription year who are following post-secondary higher education.

Have a current school certificate (2020/2021)

The package is purchased for a period of 12 months but can start at the student's choice, for the same price, on September 1st, October 1st, November 1st, December 1st, or January 1st. This ticket is refillable each year.

The imagine R Student package is payable in 9 monthly installments or in one installment by check or money order

In the event of loss or theft, imagine R Student is replaced only once a year and with a contribution of 23 euros (management fees).
!!! Being a student will allow you to benefit from exclusive offers from a selection of partners thanks to the associated Bons Plans card of the Imagine R package. It will suffice to present the card at each purchase or service.

Other Transport ticket
1. Navigo Annuel card (above 26 year): Travel unlimited in Île-de-France within the chosen tariff zones, on all modes of transport, except Orlyval for 12 months. You can either choose a package “toute zone” or “forfait 2 zones”.

2. Navigo Mois and Navigo Semaine: It allows you to travel unlimited in Paris and Ile-de-France on all modes of transport (except Orlyval) for One month or one week depending on the Navigo package chosen. For all packages (whatever the duration), the period of validity goes from the first day at 0h to the last day at 24h!
3. Navigo Liberté + If you travel occasionally with t + tickets on the transport network (except RER / trains outside Paris), validate your Navigo pass at each passage during your journey then Each month, your journeys will be counted and you will be debited the following month of the total amount of your trips. Economic!
