Graduating Class of 2017

"I found the master to be extremely power packed because we were going to do so many things in one year. It looked like a challenge and I was up for it. What I did not know before starting the master is that it would be tons of fun too!
First thing that struck me was the beautiful heterogenity in our class. I had never in my life met a person from Colombia, Venezuela or Malta. To be in such close contact with such different cultures was such an eye-opening experience and I believe it prepared me for so many unforeseen things in life. Our professors were a mix of academic knowledge and eclectic professional experience. This balance is hard to find in a single 1 year course. I strongly believe, this master, is a power shot for anyone who is looking for a career in development economics, international organsiation or even to start one's own business. In a very short time
it provides you tools to undertake all of the aforesaid."

"The master's program at UPEC was an exceptional international experience. The diversity of instructors from different fields and countries, as well as the impressive curriculum, gave me tremendous insights and inculcated in me a full-blown passion for research in development economics. The program also allowed me to get to know people from all over the world, learn about different cultures, and make friends for life. I would strongly recommend this program to anyone who is looking to improve their understanding of development economics in a truly international setting."

"Having finished both years of the master program in development economics in the UPEC I can definitely recommend it to anyone interested in development issues. It has given me an in-depth training on main principles of development economics, applied econometrics and project management. Moreover, it has also spurred my interest in research which I am currently pursuing in my career. The courses were challenging but interesting. Particularly I would like to praise program’s focus on evidence-based policy analysis and econometrics. Finally, having professors from academical world and international organisations helped to balance the content and ensure a wide outlook on the development issues. Overall, I am extremely happy with this master because it gave me both analytical and project-management skills which are necessary to work in any political environment."
